Food Styling at Leiths – Week 3

This week was even better than last week! Unfortunately, I missed the first 10 minutes, due to the absolute uselessness of the underground system. However, my annoyance was soon replaced with wonderment.  Today, the class was joined by another guest speaker Jennifer Joyce (Last week the guest speaker was Stuart Ovenden, photographer for Good Food Magazine).  I did a little research before the class, and yet again was in awe.  As you probably know by now, I’m very easily impressed. But this class was simply on another level.

After copiously jotting down 3 pages of notes and tips (I finally know where I can get my hands on fresh high quality banana leaves YIPPEE!), the class was treated to a salad styling presentation.

Apologies to Jennifer Joyce, my photographs were actually just meant to serve as an aid memoir for me, but I was so amazed by her shear brilliance that I felt compelled to share.

From a few plates of ordinary looking ingredients, including some chicken slices, grated carrot and a red cabbage, Jennifer, within a very short space of time styled no less than 4 different looks.

Why not challenge yourself to come up with beautiful looking salads.  Please share your results with us if you do 🙂
