Bonfire Hot Toddy drink


As part of the monthly food theme, here is a hot drink to enjoy using orange juice as a base.  Originally for Bon Fire night, this recipe can certainly be used to see out the Winter and move into Spring … at long last 🙂

This recipe is an adaptation of James Martin’s Gunpowder Plot Punch. You can find the original recipe here.

This is a simple ‘dunk all in a pan and go’ recipe, which will allow you time to prepare other dishes for your bonfire party. This recipe is meant to serve 4, but if you use small cups, you could serve this drink as you would a hot punch to more people.



  1. Pour all the ingredients into a large saucepan, and bring to a rapid boil.
